Labor Day weekend is one of the few long weekends where a lot of us actually get a Saturday, a Sunday and a Monday to spend at the workbench. No alarm clock, no meetings, and a genuine shot at finishing the thing you started in March. That is worth marking, so we are taking 10% off the entire store, and we are starting it early. It runs from today through Monday night.
THE SALE: 10% OFF EVERYTHING
Today through Monday September 7th. Ten percent off the entire catalog at squeakystrains.com.
There is no code to enter and nothing to activate. The discount is automatically applied at checkout, whether you shop this afternoon or at midnight on Monday. Add what you want to the cart and you will see your price there.
Some exclusions apply. A few brands set the floor on what we are allowed to advertise, so the surest way to see your price on any given item is to drop it in the cart. If you are not sure about something, just hit reply on any of our emails and ask. A real person reads them.
How It Works
Three steps, and one of them is optional.
STEP 1
Fill the cart
Any time between now and Monday September 7th. Locomotives, rolling stock, track, decoders, scenery, tools, the lot.
STEP 2
Check out
The 10% discount is automatically applied at checkout, and your price shows up right there in the cart. No code, no coupon field, nothing to copy and paste from an email.
STEP 3
Do not wait until Tuesday
The sale ends Monday night. Anything still sitting in the cart Tuesday morning quietly goes back to full price.
What We Would Grab First
Five things worth going straight to while the sale is on.
-
The Walthers Mainline SD70 wave. SD70, SD70M and SD75I in Union Pacific, Norfolk Southern, Southern Pacific and BNSF. The ESU Sound and DCC versions are listed at $203.98 and the standard DC versions start at $152.98. Drop one in the cart to see your price with the sale applied.
-
WalthersProto GP35 Ph II, Santa Fe #2890. Factory LokSound 5 sound and DCC, already marked down from $271.98 to $199.99. The GP35 is the do everything second generation diesel that looks right on almost any 1960s to 1980s layout, and this one shows up with sixteen bit EMD sound already installed.
-
MTH Premier Dash-8, Santa Fe #851, O scale. Proto-Sound 3.0, down from $539.79 to $459.99. If you have been putting off the O scale purchase, this is the long weekend where the math finally works.
-
The Woodland Scenics Just Plug Sound line. It has all landed in stock: mini speakers, micro speakers, extension cables, power supplies, and the little sound cards that give a scene its own voice. Start with a $14.99 mini speaker and one $7.49 sound card and see how much it changes one corner of your layout.
-
The clearance shelf. Over 80 items are already marked down before this weekend even starts. Those are first come, first served, and once something sells out, that is it.
FIVE DAYS. 10% OFF THE WHOLE CATALOG. NO CODE TO REMEMBER.
A Good Weekend To Finish Something
If you have been circling a project, this is a decent excuse to close the loop on it. The half wired yard that needs three more turnout motors. The locomotive that has been waiting on a decoder since spring. The scenery you keep meaning to start and keep not starting because you are one bag of ballast short.
Those are exactly the orders that benefit most from a storewide discount, because it is rarely one big purchase. It is a cart full of small things that finally add up to a finished scene.
