On Tuesday, June 30, we are giving the whole store a calmer day. Dimmed lights, lower sound, and a slower pace, for anyone who simply enjoys a calmer, quieter visit. It is our first full sensory day, and everyone is welcome.
This one is personal for us. We know how it feels when the world runs too loud, too bright, and too fast, and we know how much one calmer place can change a whole day. We started with a short sensory-friendly hour at our Easter event, and a full day was always part of the plan as we grow our community events.
What The Day Looks Like
From open to close on June 30, the store will be set up to feel softer and calmer. Here is what to expect:

Dimmed, softer lighting throughout the store.

Lower sound. Music turned down low or off, and a quieter space overall.

Fewer announcements and fewer sudden, loud noises.

A slower pace, with no pressure to hurry or to buy anything.

Staff who understand and are glad to help at whatever pace works for you.
You do not need a reason to come. Maybe a loud, busy store is a lot for you, or for someone you love. Maybe today you just need somewhere gentler to be. Whatever brings you in, you never have to explain it here. This day is for you, there is no wrong way to spend it, and there is no rush. Take your time, breathe easy, and let us take care of the rest.

However you move through the world, you are welcome at Squeaky's exactly as you are. Chat our ears off or stay quiet. Walk every aisle or settle into one spot. Come for five minutes or stay all afternoon. There is no version of you we are hoping for instead. We are just glad you came.
