    This classic Grand Trunk Western style caboose follows an authentic design based on cars first built in the 1920s with wood bodies and steel underframes and later updated with AB brake equipment. These cars were in service from the 1920s through the 1970s. Similar designs served on railroads across the country and this car is available in several road names.     Based on a prototype constructed by the Southern Iron and Equipment Company (SIECO) beginning in the 1960s, these purpose-built cars served well into the 2000s hauling pulpwood between the pulp landings in the woods and the paper mills. The open cars featured a V-sloped deck and tall bulkheads at each end of the car to keep the load in place. This is a one-time run of these roadnumbers. The model features: Separately applied ladders Factory-installed grab irons Heavy die-cast metal frame Proto MAX(TM) metal knuckle couplers Correct 36'' RP-25 turned-metal wheelsets This car is a perfect complement to the Cornerstone 933-3902 Superior Paper Mill, 933-3058 Mountain Lumber Company Sawmill or other timber related industries on your layout. Looking for a load?
