Walthers Cornerstone Walthers Cornerstone 933-3071 | Interlocking Tower | HO Scale
The Walthers Cornerstone HO Scale Interlocking Tower kit is based on one of the most important buildings alongside any railroad. A great starting point for a trackside scene, this model is complete with an exterior stairway, as well as simulated rods for the control system. It has the look and feel of similar structures used along railroads large and small. Several can be used along your line to capture the "family" look so common to railroad architecture. Plastic parts are molded in color and detailed to simulate wood construction. Decal signs and complete instructions are also included. Walthers Cornerstone Walthers Cornerstone 933-2901 | 3-Stall Modern Roundhouse Addition | HO Scale
The Walthers Cornerstone 3-Stall Modern Roundhouse Addition enlarges the hallmark of steam-era railroading on your HO layout - the 3-Stall Modern Roundhouse. If you model the diesel era you'll also find this kit to be a centerpiece of your servicing facility since some of these classics are still used today for servicing diesels. No matter the weather, workers could easily inspect and service locos under cover. Size was based on the number of engines coming and going in any 24-hour period, with the busiest terminals requiring full-circle roundhouses. This add-on kit includes three stalls on 10-degree center without side walls so you can make an addition to your Modern Roundhouse. For more realism, interior and exterior brick wall details, fine windows, floor inspection pits and much more are all standard. Locos up to 125 scale feet long fit easily inside and parts for a single 145 foot long stall are also included as many modern roundhouses were expanded to handle large locos like Mallets. If you need more than three stalls to house your steam fleet, the 3-Stall Modern Roundhouse Addition makes expanding the Modern Roundhouse (933-2900, sold separately) easy. Though engines started getting bigger early in the 20th century, no one could foresee the monsters that were in regular service by the 1940s. These locos required equally large servicing areas, so some roads simply added and extended a few roundhouse stalls to handle them. This conversion kit adds three matching stalls to the Modern Roundhouse (933-2900, sold separately). With additional kits, you can expand the basic building to any size your railroad requires. Engines up to 125' fit easily inside, and parts to build a single 145' long stall are included - big enough to hold a Big Boy. Add-on stalls for the Modern Roundhouse (933-2900, sold separately) Authentic North American prototype Holds engines up to 125 scale feet long Includes stall for bigger engines up to 145 scale feet long Expand the Modern Roundhouse up to a full circle Compact 10-degree stall spacing Interior and exterior brick detail Fine window details Floor inspection pits Decal signs included The basic Modern Roundhouse measures 17-3/4" (20-1/8" with extended stall) x 16 x 5-1/2" or 44.3 (50.3) x 40 x 13.7cm. The add-on stalls will enlarge it.

The Walthers Cornerstone HO Scale Sanding Towers and Drying House kit is essential for adding realism to steam and diesel-era locomotive servicing scenes. Since diesels also needed sand, these structures remained in service years after the last steamer had been retired. This model fits any busy terminal and includes a unique brick drying house, a large open storage bin, and piping. If major defects are noted, the units are bad ordered and shipped off to the road's backshop for further work. Perfect for use alongside other Walthers engine servicing facility structures, this kit includes realistic interior inspection walkways and below-track inspection pits. There's even room inside for adding the Overhead Traveling Crane, 933-3102 (sold separately) for more authenticity. This versatile barrel-roofed building features a detailed, decorative brick facade and garage doors - perfect for any auto or equipment dealer needing work space. Also included are a trackside unloading ramp and oil and fuel tanks. The two supplied rear walls allow you a choice of large doors or windows, and decals with a variety of business names make customizing easy!
