Description
The GP35 was EMD's answer to a horsepower race it was losing. Built from 1963, it put 2,500 hp on four axles and turned up on nearly every Class 1 railroad in North America, and many were rebuilt and kept working for decades. Broadway Limited models the common low-nose version. This one is dressed for the season in Broadway Limited's Christmas holiday scheme as #2512, a natural lead for a holiday train under the tree. It is the Stealth version: no sound, runs on DC as supplied, with a speaker installed and a 21-pin socket ready for a decoder.

No. This is the Stealth version, so it runs silent on DC. The speaker is already installed, so adding a 21-pin sound decoder later is a plug-in job.

18 inch radius. Broader curves will look and run better.

Is this a real locomotive?
No. Broadway Limited calls this a fantasy paint scheme. It is a tribute design painted on an accurate EMD GP35 Low Nose model, not a copy of a unit that ran on a real railroad.
