Description

The Walthers Cornerstone Brick Freight Office is an HO scale plastic structure kit modeled on a real freight office that stood on Fowler Street near Milwaukee's depot. This is where small businesses without their own sidings arranged rail service — the busy "brains" of a freight operation, full of clerks handling paperwork and billing. It's a characterful trackside building that fits steam-era through modern layouts.

FAQ

Does this kit require assembly?
Yes. It's an unassembled plastic kit with illustrated instructions. Parts are molded in color, so it looks great even before painting; glue and basic modeling tools are recommended.

What signs are included?
The kit comes with authentic Milwaukee Road signage. You can also letter it for any other railroad or shipper.

What era does it fit?
Brick freight offices were long-lived structures, so it works well on steam-era, transition-era, and modern HO layouts.

How much space does it need?
The finished building footprint is about 8-13/16 x 9 inches, ideal for a trackside freight or industrial scene.
