Description

The Walthers Cornerstone Cape Cod House models the iconic two-story frame home that's been built coast to coast since the mid-1950s, and thousands are still lived in today. It's perfect for filling out suburban tract neighborhoods, post-war housing scenes, or older inner-city blocks on your HO layout. The kit includes two different front walls and two styles of doors, so you can build several side-by-side without obvious repetition — great for filling a whole neighborhood with variety.

FAQ

Can I build several of these for a whole subdivision?
Yes — that's the point. Each kit ships with two different front walls and two door styles, so combining a few kits gives you genuine visual variety for a tract scene without obvious copy-paste.

What era does it fit?
Anywhere from mid-1950s through modern. Cape Cod houses were built coast to coast starting in the postwar housing boom and millions are still standing today.

Does it need painting?
It's molded in appropriate colors with printed window treatments and looks good straight from the box. Painting the trim, doors, and roof in different colors per house pushes the variety further — every Cape Cod in a real neighborhood has its own color scheme.

What glue should I use?
Any standard plastic model cement (Testors, Tamiya Extra Thin, Plastruct Plastic Weld) works on this styrene kit.
