Description
The Walthers Cornerstone 933-3762 Subway Entrance kit builds two classic city subway entrances — the kind you see on every busy New York street corner, with a green metal hood over the stairway, decorative railings around the perimeter, and a corner lamppost. Pair them on a downtown layout to give passengers a believable underground transit option and add instant urban character to any HO scale city scene.

How many entrances are in the kit?
Two (2) complete subway entrances per package — perfect for placing on opposite sides of a downtown intersection.
Do I need glue and paint?
Yes. The kit is unassembled and unpainted — use plastic cement (Tamiya Extra Thin or similar) and acrylic paints to finish. The classic NYC look uses semi-gloss dark green for the hood and railings.
Does it actually open up to a stairway?
The mold includes the stair detail down to the base, but the entrance is a solid display piece — it doesn't function as an actual hole through the layout. Most layout builders cut a matching hole below if they want to suggest depth.
What scenes work well with this kit?
Any HO downtown or city scene — pair with Cornerstone city buildings, Walthers SceneMaster city traveler figures, traffic light kits, and sidewalk crowds for a busy urban transit moment.
