About the Prototype
UP #119 is a heavyweight business car that has served Union Pacific's executive fleet for decades. The car was named in honor of John C. Kenefick, who served as UP's president from 1971 to 1985 and is widely credited with steering the railroad through deregulation and modernization. The Missouri Bicentennial drumhead commemorates the state's 200th anniversary in 2021 — UP fitted several heritage and business cars with the drumhead for the celebration. Today the Kenefick still rolls on UP business specials, foamer-favorite excursions, and the railroad's Cheyenne–North Platte heritage runs.
