The Digitrax DH127P is the plug-and-play version of the Series 7 HO decoder: a 9-pin decoder already wired to an 8-pin NMRA medium plug on about 3.2 inches of harness. If your locomotive has a DCC-ready 8-pin socket, pull the dummy plug, drop this in, and you are running. The longer harness gives you room to route wires and tuck the decoder somewhere sensible.

DH127P or DH127PS - which one do I want?
Same decoder, different harness length. The DH127P has about 3.2 in. of wire, which is easier to route in a roomy diesel hood. The DH127PS has about 1.2 in., which is the better choice when the socket sits right where the decoder has to go.
Will it fit my locomotive?
If the loco is advertised as DCC-ready with an 8-pin NMRA socket, yes. Pull the dummy plug out of the socket, keep it somewhere safe, and plug the decoder in with pin 1 lined up to the marked corner.
Does it have sound?
No. This is a motor and function decoder. For sound in HO, look at a Digitrax SDXH series decoder or a SoundTraxx unit, plus a speaker.
Do I need a Digitrax command station?
No. It is a standard NMRA DCC decoder and will run and program on any DCC system.
