The Digitrax SHABC is a complete turnout signalling kit for HO scale. A turnout needs three signals to be done properly - a dual-head mast facing the points that can show both routes, and single-head masts covering each leg beyond - and that is exactly what is in the box, along with the mounting board, plugs and hardware. Current-limiting resistors are already fitted.

What is the difference between this and a mainline kit?
A turnout needs three signals, not two: a dual-head A mast protecting the points and showing both routes, plus single-head B and C masts for each leg beyond. A mainline kit such as the SH2AB only covers plain double track.
Do I need anything else to make the signals work?
Yes - a signal decoder to drive the aspects (the SE8C is the intended partner), cabling to reach the masts such as the SDCK kit, and some form of block occupancy detection.
Do I need to add resistors?
No. Current-setting resistors are already on the mounting board, so there is no resistor maths and no risk of over-driving an LED.
Can I mix in signal heads from other makers?
Pads are provided on the mast base so you can attach other signal heads if you want a specific prototype. The plug arrangement and resistor board are designed around the Digitrax SE8C.
