The Digitrax SMBK is a three-pack of signal mast bases - the part that sits in the scenery, takes the plug from the signal driver cable and holds the signal head at the right height. Use them as bases under signals in any scale, or paint and detail them and they work as finished N scale signal masts in their own right.

What does a mast base actually do?
It anchors the signal through the layout surface and carries the plug connection down to the signal driver cable underneath, so the signal itself stays removable.
Can I use these in HO or O scale?
Yes, as bases. At those scales the base sits below or behind the scenery and the visible mast is your signal head assembly. Only in N scale is the part itself convincing as the finished mast.
What else do I need?
A signal head or kit, cabling such as the SDCK, and the SMHK mounting hardware kit to hold the plugs at the correct depth under the benchwork.
Do they come painted?
No. They are supplied plain so you can paint and weather them to match your prototype.
