The Digitrax SP26158B is a 26.5 x 15.5 x 9mm 8 ohm speaker that arrives already mounted in its own sealed enclosure - the part most installers end up fabricating by hand. That box is what turns a thin, tinny cone into a locomotive that actually sounds like one, and at 9mm deep the whole assembly still slides into HO hoods, tenders and O scale frames.

What is the difference between the SP26158B and the SP26158BC?
They are the same speaker and enclosure. The SP26158B has bare interface wires that you solder to the decoder. The SP26158BC ends in a 2-pin plug for decoders and motherboards that take a plug-in speaker.
Do I still need to build a baffle?
No. That is the point of this version - the enclosure is already there and sealed. Just mount it somewhere it is not blocked and keep the opening clear of the shell.
Will it work with my sound decoder?
Any DCC sound decoder rated for an 8 ohm speaker output, Digitrax or otherwise. If your decoder manual specifies 32 ohms, use a 32 ohm speaker such as the Digitrax SP531832B instead.
How much room do I need?
Just over an inch long, roughly 5/8 in. wide and 3/8 in. deep. That fits most HO diesel long hoods and tenders. For N scale, use the 13mm SP13138 or the oval SP10188.
