The Digitrax SP26158BC is a 26.5 x 15.5 x 9mm 8 ohm speaker supplied in a sealed enclosure and terminated in a 2-pin plug. If your decoder or locomotive motherboard has a matching speaker socket, this is the no-solder option: unplug the old speaker, plug this one in, and the install is done. The sealed box does the acoustic work that a bare cone cannot.

What is the difference between the SP26158BC and the SP26158B?
Only the connection. The BC ends in a 2-pin plug for decoders and motherboards with a speaker socket. The B has bare interface wires you solder to the decoder pads. Speaker, enclosure and specs are otherwise identical.
Will the plug fit my decoder?
It mates with the 2-pin speaker socket used on compatible Digitrax locomotive motherboards. If your decoder has solder pads rather than a socket, order the SP26158B with bare wires, or cut the plug off and solder the leads.
Do I still need to build a baffle?
No. The enclosure is included and already sealed. Mount it where the opening is not blocked by the frame or a weight and you are finished.
Will it work with my sound decoder?
Any DCC sound decoder rated for an 8 ohm speaker output. If your decoder manual specifies 32 ohms, use a 32 ohm speaker such as the Digitrax SP531832B instead.
