The Digitrax UP7 LocoNet Universal Panel is the fascia-mounted plug-in point that turns a LocoNet layout into a true walkaround railroad. Mount one every few feet along the fascia and operators can plug in a throttle, walk with their train, and unplug at the far end without ever dropping the session. Two front throttle jacks, three more LocoNet jacks for daisy-chaining, optional throttle charging, and a Track Status LED make the UP7 the modern drop-in replacement for the long-running Digitrax UP5 panel.

Will the UP7 work with my Digitrax system?
Yes. Any Digitrax command station or booster with a LocoNet port works, including the Zephyr Express, DCS210+, DCS240+ and older LocoNet systems. Plug it in with standard LocoNet cable and it is ready to use.
Do I need a power supply for it?
Not for normal operation - LocoNet runs the panel on its own. Add a 12V DC supply such as the Digitrax PS14 only if you want the panel to charge DT602 or UT6 throttles while LocoNet is asleep.
Can I use the UP7 to replace a UP5?
Yes. The UP7 is the direct successor to the UP5 with the same LocoNet function, so it is the normal upgrade path for existing panels.
How many panels does a layout need?
Most operators mount one every 6 to 10 feet of fascia so a throttle jack is never more than a few steps away as you follow your train.
What cable does it use?
Standard 6-conductor flat LocoNet cable with RJ12 6-pin connectors - the same cable used throughout a Digitrax LocoNet layout.
