Lionel FasTrack Remote Uncoupling Track — a 5" straight section with a built-in electromagnet that lets you uncouple cars anywhere on your layout with the press of a button. The roadbed and pin connectors match the rest of the FasTrack system, so it drops right into a yard ladder, siding, or industry spur without any custom wiring on the rails themselves. A button on the included controller activates the magnet to release the coupler when a car is positioned over the section.

Will this uncouple any Lionel car?
It uncouples cars equipped with magnetic-style couplers — that includes virtually all modern Lionel rolling stock. Older non-magnetic couplers and Kadee couplers do not uncouple over this track.
Does it work better off track power or an accessory supply?
Both work, but a fixed 14V AC accessory supply gives the strongest, most reliable uncoupling pulse — especially at low throttle where track voltage can drop too low.
Why is a half-straight included?
The uncoupling section is 5" long. The included 5" half-straight pairs with it to fill a standard 10" FasTrack block, so you can drop it into an existing layout without re-laying track.
Is this compatible with Lionel tubular or American Flyer track?
No. FasTrack is its own roadbed system. You'll need a FasTrack-to-tubular transition piece if mixing track systems.
