Cando Contracting CCGX #4023 in black, red and white, on Rapido's HO scale GP9u low-nose rebuild. This is the DC/DCC/Sound version with a factory-fitted ESU LokSound decoder, so it runs and sounds right out of the box on either a DC or a DCC layout.
In 1970 Canadian Pacific began rebuilding its ageing GP9 road switchers for yard and local work. The noses were chopped, appearance details reworked, and later rebuilds picked up upgraded 645 power assemblies, with a few set up to run with slugs. Cando Contracting later took several of these hard-working units into industrial and contract switching service.
