Bring modern passenger service to your layout with the Walthers Cornerstone Amtrak® Rural Station kit, based on the real Amtrak stop in Rensselaer, Indiana. It captures the look of today's small-town rail stops perfectly — a long concrete platform with safety fencing, platform lights, and an enclosed waiting area just big enough for a bench and a handful of travelers. Station sign decals for Rensselaer plus additional city names let you drop it into your own HO Scale railroad's territory.

Does this kit require assembly?
Yes. This is a molded plastic structure kit that assembles with plastic cement (sold separately). Parts are molded in appropriate colors, so painting is optional — though a little weathering makes the concrete platform pop.
Do the platform lights work?
The platform lights are non-functional detail parts. The waiting area is interior lighting ready, so you can easily add your own lighting (sold separately).
Can I use a different town name on the station signs?
Yes. Along with Rensselaer, Indiana, the decal sheet includes additional city names, so you can match the station to your own layout's locale.
How much space does the finished station need?
The assembled platform runs about 23 inches long and 5 inches deep — it sits neatly alongside a straight stretch of mainline or passing siding.
