Description

The Digitrax DHWHPS is the short adapter harness that turns a 9-pin Digitrax decoder into a plug-in one. Roughly an inch of wire between the 9-pin decoder socket and an 8-pin NMRA medium plug - just enough to reach, and short enough that there is no spare loop to hide in a cramped HO shell.

Features
  • 9-pin Digitrax socket to 8-pin NMRA medium plug - lets a bare-socket decoder such as the DH127D drop into a DCC-ready locomotive.
  • Approximately 1 in. of wire, deliberately short for tight installs where excess harness is the problem.
  • No soldering - the decoder plugs into one end, the locomotive socket takes the other.
  • Standard NMRA 8-pin medium plug, so it fits the socket used in most DCC-ready HO locomotives.
  • A spare harness is also useful when the original is damaged or when you move a decoder between locomotives.

FAQ

Do I need this harness?
Only if your decoder has a bare 9-pin socket and your locomotive has an 8-pin DCC-ready socket. Decoders sold with a plug already fitted, such as the DH127P or DH127PS, do not need one.

How short is "short"?
About an inch. That is the point of this version - in a cramped shell a longer harness just becomes wire you have to fold and hide. If you need more reach, use the standard-length harness instead.

Which decoders does it fit?
Any Digitrax decoder with the 9-pin harness socket, such as the DH127D.

Which way round does the plug go?
The 8-pin plug is keyed by pin 1, which is marked on both the plug and the locomotive socket. Line the markings up - a plug fitted 180 degrees out will run the loco backwards or leave the lights wrong.
