Will this run on my existing N layout?
Yes — standard N-scale (1:160) with body-mounted Micro-Trains magnetic knuckles. Couples to any Magne-Matic or compatible N-scale coupler and rolls on code 55, 70, or 80 rail.
Who was the Fort Worth & Denver?
A north Texas and Texas Panhandle railroad that became a Burlington Route subsidiary in 1908. It kept its identity through the 1970 BN merger and operated under FW&D reporting marks well into the BN era, then was absorbed into Burlington Northern in 1981.
What does "DF" mean on the side?
"Damage-Free" — the car was equipped with adjustable interior load bars and dividers (originally an Evans Products / Atchison & Topeka system) to keep cargo from shifting in transit. A clear visual cue this car carried high-value finished goods.
Sold individually?
Yes — a single car with road number 5009. Micro-Trains releases this body style in many road numbers and paint schemes if you want to build a string.
