SoundTraxx 884007 | TSU-2200 Steam-2 Tsunami2 Digital Sound Decoder - 2 Amp, 6-Function DCC | Multi Scale

The SoundTraxx 884007 is a TSU-2200 Tsunami2 digital sound decoder with the Steam-2 sound set. Tsunami2 combines a 16-bit sound system, Hyperdrive2 motor control, Hyperlight lighting effects and a full NMRA-compliant DCC decoder on one board, driven by a 32-bit processor with 16 polyphonic sound channels.

This version is the universal-style decoder that fits most HO diesels, rated 2A and suited to HO to S scale. Dynamic Digital Exhaust reads the load on the motor and notches the engine up and down on its own, so the locomotive sounds like it is working for its train.

Will this fit my locomotive?
It measures 35 x 18 x 6mm and connects by universal-style hardwire with an nmra 9-pin jst harness. Check that against the space in your shell before ordering — other Tsunami2 versions use different connectors and sizes.

Is a speaker included?
No. Pair it with an 8-ohm speaker rated 2 watt or better that fits your shell.

How is Steam-2 different from the standard Steam set?
The chuffs, bells, airpumps and dynamos are the same. The difference is the whistle library: Steam-2 offers 90 whistles against 63 on the standard Steam set, with many roadname-specific additions.

Does it run on DC?
Yes. Tsunami2 runs on a standard DC power pack as well as DCC, though sound and lighting options are limited on DC. Full function control needs a DCC system.
