The original EMD profile carries the most common prime movers, such as the 567 non-turbo in F-units and early Geeps and the 645 turbo in the SD40-2 and SD45. EMD-2 carries a second group of engines, including the 567C in the GP9 and SD9, the 645E 20-cylinder in the SD45 family and the 710G 16-cylinder in the SD60 and SD70 series.
