SoundTraxx 884814 | Tsunami2 TSU-BH2 Steam-2 Digital Sound Decoder

The SoundTraxx 884814 is a TSU-BH1 Tsunami2 digital sound decoder with the Steam-2 sound set. Tsunami2 combines a 16-bit sound system, Hyperdrive2 motor control, Hyperlight lighting effects and a full NMRA-compliant DCC decoder on one board, driven by a 32-bit processor with 16 polyphonic sound channels.

This version is a drop-in board replacement for Bachmann Sound Value diesels, rated 2A and suited to HO scale Bachmann Sound Value diesels. Dynamic Digital Exhaust reads the load on the motor and notches the engine up and down on its own, so the locomotive sounds like it is working for its train.

Will this fit my locomotive?
It measures 97 x 16 x 7.7mm and connects by a drop-in replacement for the bachmann sound value factory board. Check that against the space in your shell before ordering — other Tsunami2 versions use different connectors and sizes.

Is a speaker included?
No. Pair it with an 8-ohm speaker rated 2 watt or better that fits your shell.

How is Steam-2 different from the standard Steam set?
The chuffs, bells, airpumps and dynamos are the same. The difference is the whistle library: Steam-2 offers 90 whistles against 63 on the standard Steam set, with many roadname-specific additions.

Which locomotives is the BH1 for?
It is a drop-in replacement for the factory board in Bachmann Sound Value diesels, including the FA-2, FB-2, S-4, E7-A, F-7, SD70ACe, ES44AC, GP30, GP38-2, GP40, GP7, RS-3 and SD40-2.

Does it run on DC?
Yes. Tsunami2 runs on a standard DC power pack as well as DCC, though sound and lighting options are limited on DC. Full function control needs a DCC system.
