Description
The WAUX-KA5 is designed specifically for use with the TCS WOW101 decoder. It's a Keep-Alive® energy storage device that supplies continuous power to the decoder whenever the locomotive loses track contact, paired with a built-in auxiliary harness that also routes the decoder's auxiliary outputs for additional functions.
The KA5 packs five supercapacitors for higher storage capacity and peak voltage than a KA3 or KA4, keeping your locomotive moving and headlights lit for roughly 6–20 seconds through dirty track, frogs, and other dead spots.

Will this work with any TCS decoder?
No. The WAUX-KA5 is built specifically for the TCS WOW101 decoder. For other TCS decoders, use the KA5-P or another appropriate Keep-Alive model.
What's the difference between this and the KA5-P?
Both use the same 5-supercapacitor bank, but the WAUX-KA5 adds a dedicated auxiliary harness wired for the WOW101's extra function outputs. The KA5-P has a simpler 2-pin plug for decoders with a standard Keep-Alive socket.
How long does it keep the loco running?
Roughly 6–20 seconds depending on the locomotive's motor efficiency and what lighting/sound functions are active.
Do I need to solder anything?
No. The harness is pre-wired with the connectors needed for a WOW101 installation.
