Who was Fort Worth & Denver, and how does it fit with the "Way of Zephyrs" slogan?
The Fort Worth & Denver (FW&D) was a Texas-based subsidiary of the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy ("Burlington Route"). Burlington used the "Way of the Zephyrs" slogan in the 1940s–60s to promote its Zephyr streamliner network, and the slogan appeared on freight equipment across the system — making this a nice prototype for any Burlington, Texas, or transition-era layout.
