Peco SL-E8377 | Code 83 #7 Curved Turnout - Streamline, Left Hand, Electrofrog | HO Scale

Description

The Peco SL-E8377 is a Code 83 Streamline #7 curved turnout, left hand, with an Electrofrog (live metal frog) for the smoothest slow-speed running, since there is no dead spot through the frog. It is puts a junction or passing siding right on a curve, so the mainline keeps its flowing look.

Peco's Code 83 line is modeled on North American railroad track: scaled from A.R.E.A. drawings, NMRA compliant, with authentic tie sizes and spacing, North American frog numbering and fine spike detail. Both routes curve the same way: the inner road follows a 36" (914mm) radius and the outer road a 60" (1524mm) radius, with a 9.5 degree divergence.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will it work with my Atlas or Walthers Code 83 track?
Yes. Code 83 is a rail height standard, so Peco Code 83 connects to any other Code 83 HO track with ordinary rail joiners.

Does it need any special wiring?
Yes, a little. An Electrofrog is power routing, so use insulated rail joiners on the two frog rails and feed power to the track on the points (toe) end. A switch machine with contacts, such as the Circuitron Tortoise, can switch frog polarity.

Does it come with a switch machine?
No. It can be thrown by hand, by a ground throw, or by a switch machine such as the Circuitron Tortoise or Smail.

Are rail joiners included?
No. Use Code 83 rail joiners to connect it to the rest of your layout.

Is there a matching turnout?
Yes. See More in This Series below for the other Peco North American style turnouts we carry.
