Peco SL-U7081 | Code 70 #8 Turnout - Streamline, Right Hand, Unifrog | HO Scale

Description

The Peco SL-U7081 is a Code 70 Streamline #8 turnout, right hand, with a Unifrog, Peco's newest frog design: the metal frog is isolated from the rails, so it works out of the box on DC or DCC, and it has a dropper wire if you want to power the frog later. It is a long, gentle #8 for mainline crossovers and junctions where long cars and six-axle locomotives run.

Peco's Code 70 "70 Line" is authentic American track with a lower, finer rail profile that suits branch lines, yards and secondary mainlines. The diverging road follows a 67" (1702mm) radius with a 7.15 degree frog angle.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will my older equipment run on Code 70?
Code 70 is built for modern RP-25 wheels. Older deep-flange wheels can bump the tie plates and spike detail, so check your fleet first. To join it to Code 83 or Code 100 track, use transition rail joiners.

Do I have to power the frog?
No. The Unifrog runs straight out of the box on DC or DCC. Connecting the dropper wire to a polarity switch, such as the contacts on a Circuitron Tortoise, powers the frog for the smoothest slow running.

Does it come with a switch machine?
No. It can be thrown by hand, by a ground throw, or by a switch machine such as the Circuitron Tortoise or Smail.

Are rail joiners included?
No. Use Code 70 rail joiners to connect it to the rest of your layout.

Is there a matching turnout?
Yes. See More in This Series below for the other Peco North American style turnouts we carry.
