Rapido's HO scale 40 foot drop-bottom gondola in Burlington Northern, Maintenance of Way scheme. This listing is the single car, so you get one car ready to run.
Drop-bottom gondolas earned their keep hauling ballast, ore, coal, sand and pulpwood, unloading through hopper doors in the floor rather than needing a tipple. Thousands ran on North American railroads from the 1930s well into the 1970s, and plenty finished their careers in maintenance of way service.
