The Walthers Mainline Plymouth ML-8 is the perfect industrial switcher for short lines, factory sidings, and museum railroads. This HO scale model captures the charm of the rugged little Plymouth diesels that have moved freight cars in industrial yards from the 1920s through today, painted in classic black with high-visibility yellow safety stripes and supplied with decals so you can letter it for any railroad you like.

Is this DCC-ready?
Yes — the mechanism is DCC-friendly. This is the DC analog version (no decoder, no sound). For factory-installed DCC, look for Walthers Mainline 910-20019 instead.
Why is it painted but not lettered?
Industrial switchers like the Plymouth ML-8 served countless small railroads, factories, and shortlines, so Walthers ships it painted but unlettered with a sheet of decals — pick from the included Cornerstone industry logos and numbers, or letter it for your own freelanced road.
How tight a curve will it handle?
The Plymouth's short wheelbase makes it ideal for the tight 18" radius industrial spurs typical of switching layouts. It will handle anything an HO layout can throw at it.
Can I add sound?
The DC version has limited internal space for a decoder/speaker. If you want sound, the dedicated DCC-only variant (910-20019) or the DCC-with-sound version (910-20020 series) are easier paths than retrofitting this one.
