This Week at Squeaky's: June 21, 2026
What Rolled In, What's Marked Down
Welcome to your weekly stop at Squeaky's. We unboxed fresh arrivals, marked down a stack of clearance finds, and got orders out the door. Here is the full story behind this week's newsletter, plus a two minute fix that puts an end to flickering lights.
Just Pulled In
A great mix landed on the shelves this week, and the DCC crowd ate well:
- SoundTraxx CurrentKeeper III, $19.95. A tiny keep-alive board that ends stalls and flicker on dirty track or dead frogs. Small board, big difference, and it sets up the tip further down.
- TCS LT-50 DCC Starter System, $159.99. A complete LCC throttle and command station that gets a layout running right out of the box. A clean first system or a tidy upgrade.
- Broadway Limited 9730 Georgia Railroad #300 Business Car, $109.99. LED lit, HO scale, a sharp tail-end addition to any heavyweight consist.
And the staff pick this week is a showstopper: the Walthers Cornerstone Motorized 130 Foot Turntable, assembled and ready to spin your power around the layout.
N scalers, clear some track, because a fresh fleet of Kato diesels just rolled in too:
- Kato SD70M, Union Pacific #1616 "Abraham Lincoln", $109.99. A sharp commemorative flat-radiator scheme, DCC ready and ready to run.
- Kato SD70M, Union Pacific #1979 "We Are One", $119.99. Also here with factory ESU LokSound DCC sound for $239.99.
- Kato SD70M, Union Pacific #4015 Excursion, $97.99. A clean excursion-service look at a hard to beat price.
- Kato SD40-2, Norfolk Southern #6111, $99.99 (was $124.99). Early production in classic NS black, already marked down.

Marked Down This Week
We cleared some shelf space, which means deals for you. Southern Pacific fans can grab a 68 foot Railgon gondola, an 85 foot flatcar, and a GP35 to round out a consist. There is a GE ES44AC for the modern motive power crowd and a Woodland Scenics country store for the scenery side too.
Clearance moves fast and these are first come, first served. When one sells out, that is it. Shop all of this week's deals here.
The 2-Minute Fix for Flickering Lights
Running into stalls or flicker on slow runs? Before you blame the decoder, check your track joiners. A small drop of conductive grease on each joiner keeps current flowing clean and steady. It is a two minute job that quietly fixes a problem most folks chase for hours.
Pair that with this week's CurrentKeeper III and you get smooth, silent, stall free running even over dirty track and dead frogs. Clean track, tight joiners, a keep-alive board. That is the whole recipe.
Here is the fun part. This trivia goes out in our weekly newsletter first, right alongside the new arrivals and clearance deals, so subscribers always get the answer (and first crack at the deals) before the rest of the site does.
