SoundTraxx SoundTraxx 829002 | PTB-100 Programming Track Booster
The PTB-100 Programming Track Booster is a handy tool for anyone who uses DCC! This device facilitates programming as well as gives some comforting feedback during the programming process. You will instantly know if your decoder has received the programming instruction (or not!) by way of indicator lights on the circuit board. So why might you want (or need) a PTB-100? Certain command stations allow you to read a CV during Service Mode programming, which is useful to verify its current setting. Sometimes trouble reading or verifying CVs may be due to the design of the command station and the decoder itself. All decoders communicate back to the command station using what’s called an acknowledgement pulse, which is defined in NMRA RP-9.2.3 as “an increased load on the programming track of at least 60mA for at least 5ms.” Like most decoders, SoundTraxx Digital Sound Decoders generate the acknowledgment pulse by momentarily applying power to the motor. If the decoder is otherwise working properly (i.e., responds properly on the mainline to speed and direction commands), but the command station is having trouble reading CV data from the decoder, it may be due to incompatibilities between the electrical requirements of the sound decoder (which are different from conventional decoders due to the added audio circuitry) and the electrical characteristics of the programming track. In this case, you will need to use a programming track booster, such as the PTB-100. The PTB-100 amplifies the programming track signals to levels that work best with SoundTraxx Sound Decoders. It is easy to install and inexpensive. An advantage to using the PTB-100 is that it also provides short circuit detection and some helpful diagnostics. The PTB-100 is neither needed nor recommended for use with the Zimo MX1 or the Lenz LVZ100.

Kadee Kadee 241 | Dual Tool - Manual Uncoupling Tool & Built In Spring Pic
"Dual Tool" Manual uncoupling tool & built in Spring Pic There are many modelers that wish to manual uncouple with a small tool and Kadee®offers the #241 "Dual Tool" manual uncoupler and spring pick combination. For manual uncoupling the #118 & #119 shelf coupler the #241 has a "pointed" end to fit around the top shelf. The other "blade" end of the #241 is for standard couplers, also, the blade end has nubs so it can double as a spring pick for inserting small coil springs. To manual uncouple the #118 & #119 coupler with the pointed end of the #241 "Dual Tool", first push the cars together where the coupler knuckles compress against each other, insert the pointed end against the "outside" of the hooked tip of the knuckle as illustrated (the knuckle is the moving part of the coupler head). As the point slips into the coupler it will push the knuckle past the hook of the opposing knuckle. To assist the uncoupling you can push the knuckle tip outward with the point, when the knuckle tips are past each other you can now separate the uncoupled cars. Package Includes: (1) "Dual Tool" Manual uncoupling tool & built in Spring Pic

Kadee Kadee 532 | 36" Diameter Smooth Back Metal Code 88 Semi-Scale Wheels - Freight and Passenger | HO Scale
#532 - 36" Diameter Smooth Back Wheelsets (Code 88) - HO Scale Smooth wheelsets are most commonly found on diesel era rolling stock. Kadee® wheel sets are manufactured to the most exacting standards and feature: RP-25 contour, non-magnetic metal wheels and insulated needlepoint axles. Twelve Sets (1 Set = 1 Axle) Axle Tip to Tip: 1.018" Wheelset Features: Code 88 (.088") 36" Smooth Back Wheels Accurate markings Incredible detail true to prototype Non-magnetic Metal Wheels Smooth tracking Free rolling Contoured Insulated Axles RP-25 Free rolling wheels Needlepoint Axles Axle Tip to Tip: 1.018" Freight & Passenger Package Includes: (12) Sets #532 36" Diameter Smooth Back Wheelsets (Code 88) The term Code 110 and Code 88 relates to the width of the wheels and has no relationship to track code. Code 110 wheels are .110" wide and Code 88 are .088" wide. Code 110 wheels are the common (or "Standard") width wheels and Code 88 are what is called "Semi-Scale" and are used when the modeler wants a more prototypical looking wheel width. Actual HO-Scale prototypical wheel width would be around .067" wide and although they will run OK on the average track they will not go through common turnouts and crossings. Code 88 (.088") is just about the minimum width of wheel that will run on most standard or common track if gauged correctly. It really is a matter of appearances because there's very little operational differences between running Code 110 or Code 88 wheels. Code 88 wheels look really good and are most noticeable on open frame cars like hoppers and tank cars. However, they also look great on boxcars, gondolas, and reefers but not quite as noticeable. As mentioned above track code and wheel code have no relationship meaning Code 110 and Code 88 will run on most any code of track. Track code is simply the measured height of the rail, code 100 is .100" tall, code 83 is .083" tall, code 70 is .070" tall, and so on.
