ESU LLC ESU 54672 | PowerPack Maxi for LokSound L V4.0, LokSound V4.0, LokSound 5 L and LokSound 5, LokPilot 5 and LokPilot 5 L 2x 5F/2.7V | Multi Scale
The new ESU PowerPack Maxi has been developed as the powerful complement to the LokSound L V4.0 / LokSound 5 L decoder. It can, of course, provided there is sufficient space, also be connected to all LokPilot V4.0, LokSound V4.0, LokSound V4.0 M4, LokPilot 5 or LokSound 5 decoders. It provides uninterrupted power to your locomotive when traversing dirty track and long turnout ladders. All sound, lighting and motor functions are buffered with the aid of two energy storage capacitors enabling your models – subject to the total energy consumption - to continue running for up to three seconds. The PowerPack Maxi incorporates an integral charging circuit controlled by the decoder. Therefore it may be connected even during programming. The charging current is limited in order to avoid an undue load on the booster, in case there are several models in the same booster sector. The buffer time can be reduced by means of a CV. This may be useful to assure the correct stopping position ahead of signals showing the “Stop” aspect (red signal). The space requirements of the PowerPack Maxi of about 27.5 mm x 15.7 mm x 13 mm must be taken into account when installing this unit. A three-pole wire harness connects the PowerPack Maxi to the decoder. The wires are already soldered to the PowerPack Maxi but must be soldered to the appropriate solder pads of the decoder. Please note that due to technical reasons the PowerPack cannot operate in analogue mode: Buffering is therefore not possible in analogue mode. ESU LLC ESU 53900 | DCC Decoder Tester - Cube Speaker & LEDs | Multi Scale
Perhaps you are familiar with this scenario: there is a digital decoder sitting on your workbench and you want to test it prior to a perhaps complex installation. But how to do this? The Profi Decoder tester makes it easy for you: simply connect the tester to your command station or the LokProgrammer. It enables you to test any decoder without exposing it to any external factors caused by the locomotive that may influence its performance. Features In order to make things as easy as possible for you, the Profi Decoder Tester is equipped with some useful features. It has all commonly used interface sockets for connecting a decoder for the smaller scale models: Besides a 6-pole NEM 651 socket and the 8-pole NEM 652 socket, it also has an 21MTC interface as per NEM 660, a PluX22 socket as well as a Next18 interface: No matter which type of decoder you have: Simply plug it in – it will fit! And that’s all there is to it! Decoders without any interface can be contacted with individual terminals. A quality coreless motor with flywheel serves in conjunction with LEDs indicating the direction for checking the motor output: Thus it is quite easy to check on the low speed performance and the even speed of the decoder. An LED monitor informs you about the functioning of the headlights and back-up lights as well as the function outputs AUX1 through AUX6. For testing LokSound decoders we have integrated a 20 mm speaker. You may choose if the integral speaker should be switched off or if it should have 100 Ohm respectively 16 Ohm – thus the Decoder Tester is perfectly suitable for any ESU decoder generation! Two SUSI plugs facilitate the direct test of optional SUSI modules as well as the connection to another circuit board. The electrical connection to either the command station or the LokProgrammer is facilitated by a removable, 2-pole terminal block (same system as used on the LokProgrammer and the ECoS) or via two solder points. The dimensions of the ESU Decoder Tester are 99 x 74 x 34mm. SoundTraxx SoundTraxx 829002 | PTB-100 Programming Track Booster
The PTB-100 Programming Track Booster is a handy tool for anyone who uses DCC! This device facilitates programming as well as gives some comforting feedback during the programming process. You will instantly know if your decoder has received the programming instruction (or not!) by way of indicator lights on the circuit board. So why might you want (or need) a PTB-100? Certain command stations allow you to read a CV during Service Mode programming, which is useful to verify its current setting. Sometimes trouble reading or verifying CVs may be due to the design of the command station and the decoder itself. All decoders communicate back to the command station using what’s called an acknowledgement pulse, which is defined in NMRA RP-9.2.3 as “an increased load on the programming track of at least 60mA for at least 5ms.” Like most decoders, SoundTraxx Digital Sound Decoders generate the acknowledgment pulse by momentarily applying power to the motor. If the decoder is otherwise working properly (i.e., responds properly on the mainline to speed and direction commands), but the command station is having trouble reading CV data from the decoder, it may be due to incompatibilities between the electrical requirements of the sound decoder (which are different from conventional decoders due to the added audio circuitry) and the electrical characteristics of the programming track. In this case, you will need to use a programming track booster, such as the PTB-100. The PTB-100 amplifies the programming track signals to levels that work best with SoundTraxx Sound Decoders. It is easy to install and inexpensive. An advantage to using the PTB-100 is that it also provides short circuit detection and some helpful diagnostics. The PTB-100 is neither needed nor recommended for use with the Zimo MX1 or the Lenz LVZ100.

Ring Engineering Ring Engineering AR-1 RailPro Auto Reverse Module
This product is specifically designed to be used with DC and/or RailPro products. It cannot be used with DCC products. The AR-1 is used to power special configurations of track such as below. Track configuration like below would cause a short circuit if connected without the use of an AR-1. Note that if you follow Rail ’A’ around you will notice that it connects to Rail ‘B’! That is just like putting a piece of metal across Rail ’A’ and Rail ‘B’ which would cause a short circuit and would cause a power supply to shut down. The solution to power special track configurations like below is to add insulation gaps and power the sections with an AR-1. The AR-1 can also be used to isolate small sections of track, limiting the impact of short circuits if derailments occur to just one area of your layout. Features: All Solid State Design Simple Connection with Only 4 Wires No Adjustments Necessary Provides Short Circuit Isolation for a Section of Track Status Indicator Light Fast and Secure Spring Clamp Connecters Fully Enclosed Circuit Board Electronics Size: 4.60 x 3.00 x 1.18 inches Our all solid state design has many advantages over relay based designs. With the relay based designs we tested you could see the locomotive jerk when it crossed the gap at slow speeds. With our AR-1 we saw no visible change in speed at all! Further, compared to relay based designs, solid state units are far less likely to fail, switch many times faster and all without that annoying relay clicking sound.
