Metallics that shade themselves: the industry-first one-coat metallic Speedpaints deliver base color, shading, and metallic shine in a single pass over primer. Ten 18ml colors — golds, silvers, bronzes, and colored metals — plus a free basecoating brush and painting guide. For rail modelers this is the fast lane to convincing brass fittings, steel walkways, copper piping, and weathered machinery.
It pairs with the Speedpaint Starter Set 2.0, and Speedpaint Medium tunes the effect.
How are these different from regular metallic paint?
Standard metallics need a basecoat, a wash, and a highlight. These do all three in one coat — the pigment settles dark in recesses and bright on edges.
What primer works best?
Black or dark grey primer makes the metals read deepest; light primer gives brighter, newer-looking metal.
Can I mix them with regular Speedpaints?
Yes — same 2.0 formula, and a drop of color into a metallic makes tinted metals (great for aged brass and rusted steel).
