Greenbrier's transverse coil car is a modern answer to an old problem: steel coils are dense, awkward, and hate moving. The five-trough design carries them crosswise under removable covers, and Rapido has made the first HO model of the type.
Norfolk Southern took delivery of these cars in plain black with yellow conspicuity stripes and no herald, a look that shows up on steel trains across the eastern network. This is the second Norfolk Southern car number in the run.
