The SoundTraxx 882006 is an ECO-21PNEM Diesel digital sound decoder. Econami is SoundTraxx’s value line: the same 16-bit sound and Hyperdrive2 motor control as Tsunami2, with a smaller sound library and a lower price. It carries 12 polyphonic sound channels and over 20 Hyperlight lighting effects.
It is a full NMRA-compliant DCC decoder rated 1A, connecting by 21-pin dual-row bottom-entry nem connector.

Shop the full SoundTraxx range, compare every DCC decoder we stock, or see the EMD / EMD-2 Diesel decoders. A speaker is not included — browse DCC speakers rated 2 watt, 8-ohm or better, and find install parts in DCC wiring. Add a SoundTraxx 810140 CurrentKeeper to keep sound alive over dirty track.
How is Econami different from Tsunami2?
Both are 16-bit with Hyperdrive2 motor control, 28 functions and 20+ lighting effects. Econami has a smaller sound library (5 prime movers, 16 air horns and 7 bells against Tsunami2’s 12, 40+ and 14), 12 sound channels instead of 16, and no reverb. If your prototype is covered by the list above, Econami saves you real money.
Is a speaker included?
No. Pair it with any 8-ohm speaker rated 2 watt or better that fits your shell.
Does it have Dynamic Digital Exhaust?
No. DDE is on the Econami steam decoders and across the Tsunami2 line, but not on Econami diesel. You do get dynamic braking on F4.
Will it fit my locomotive?
It measures 30.5 x 15.5mm and connects by 21-pin dual-row bottom-entry nem connector. Check that against the space in your shell before ordering.
