The WalthersMainline EMD SD75I in BNSF Railway colors, road number 282, ready for HO scale mainline duty. Built from 1996 to 1999 and still working the road today, the SD75I introduced EMD's isolated Whisper Cab, identified by the visible seam along the nose and designed to cut noise and vibration for the crew.
This is the Standard DC version. It runs straight out of the box on a conventional DC layout, and the 21-pin plug means you can drop in the DCC decoder of your choice whenever you are ready.
Underneath it is the same drive Walthers puts in its Proto locomotives: a 5-pole skew-wound motor, dual brass flywheels, all-wheel drive and pickup, and a die-cast chassis that gives it the weight to pull a real train.
