Broadway Limited Imports Broadway Limited 7356 | ATSF Blue Goose, Unlettered, Painted Brass, Paragon4 Sound/DC/DCC, Smoke | HO Scale
Available for Special Order only Ships as soon as product becomes available! Estimated Time: 1 - 2 Weeks Free USA Shipping The ATSF 3460 class consisted of six "Super Hudson" 4-6-4 steam locomotives built by Baldwin in 1937. One of those, #3460, was the Santa Fe's only streamlined locomotive. It was painted in a unique light blue and silver paint scheme and gained the name "Blue Goose". The Blue Goose was delivered to Shopton, Iowa in January 1938, and it pulled many of the Santa Fe's famed passenger trains until it was retired and scrapped in 1956. In our first production run of the Blue Goose, we are offering two models of the early locomotive as it appeared in 1938 and four models of the locomotive as it appeared between 1939 and retirement. The only difference between the two 1938 models is the presence of the road number "3460" on the side of the tender. Each of our four post-1938 model has a unique paint scheme, prototypically accurate for a specific time frame. The most visible detail differences between the early and late Blue Goose versions are the removal of the full skirts and the addition of the scissor smokestack and associated equipment. All of the models have hand-crafted brass boilers, cabs, and tender bodies, and die cast locomotive and tender chassis. Each model comes with our Paragon4 Sound/DC/DCC sound system with synchronized puffing smoke and integral GoPack capacitors. Kadee Kadee 517 | Pennsylvania 2D-F8 50-Ton Trucks with 33" Ribbed Back Wheels - Metal Fully Sprung (HO Scale)
#517 Pennsylvania 2D-F8 50-Ton Trucks with 33" Ribbed Back Wheels - HO ScaleMetal Fully Sprung Equalized Trucks Mounts with a #2 or 2-56 screw.Mounting Screws not Included. The Pennsylvania Railroad Class 2D-F8 50-ton freight truck was originally manufactured in the 1920's with a riveted bolster but our release represents the style introduced in the 1930's which included a cast steel bolster. This type of truck was in faithful service for more than fifty years. HO-Scale Metal Fully Sprung Trucks Features: Code 110 (.110) #523 33" Ribbed Back Wheels Accurate Markings Incredible Detail True to Prototype Non-Magnetic Metal Wheels Highly Flexible Sprung Trucks Metal Sideframes & Fully Sprung Bolster Smooth tracking Free Rolling Contoured Insulated Plastic Axles RP-25 Free Rolling Wheels #637 HO Scale Truck Springs Patent number 5,768,999 Package Includes: (2) Each #517 Pennsylvania 2D-F8 50-Ton Trucks (assembled) The term Code 110 and Code 88 relates to the width of the wheels and has no relationship to track code. Code 110 wheels are .110" wide and Code 88 are .088" wide. Code 110 wheels are the common (or "Standard") width wheels and Code 88 are what is called "Semi-Scale" and are used when the modeler wants a more prototypical looking wheel width. Actual HO-Scale prototypical wheel width would be around .067" wide and although they will run OK on the average track they will not go through common turnouts and crossings. Code 88 (.088") is just about the minimum width of wheel that will run on most standard or common track if gauged correctly. It really is a matter of appearances because there's very little operational differences between running Code 110 or Code 88 wheels. Code 88 wheels look really good and are most noticeable on open frame cars like hoppers and tank cars. However, they also look great on boxcars, gondolas, and reefers but not quite as noticeable. As mentioned above track code and wheel code have no relationship meaning Code 110 and Code 88 will run on most any code of track. Track code is simply the measured height of the rail, code 100 is .100" tall, code 83 is .083" tall, code 70 is .070" tall, and so on.

In 2022, BLI is bringing out our second production of USRA Light and Heavy 4-6-2 steam locomotives, commonly called Light Pacifics and Heavy Pacifics! There were 20 original Heavy Pacifics built in 1919 for the USRA program, and all 20 went to Erie Railroad. From 1923, numerous copies were built, and many railroads operated similar locomotives. There were 81 original Light Pacifics built in 1919, and these were delivered to ACL, B&O, GTW, M&O (GM&O), and L&N. Subsequently, each of these railroads built copies, and several other railroads operated locomotives with similar dimensions and equipment. The Light Pacifics were limited to 54,000 lbs load per axle, versus 60,000 for the Heavy Pacifics, and this allowed the Light Pacifics to run on most main lines. Our Heavy and Light models follow the original USRA designs closely. Railroad specific variations are not modeled on these locomotives. Many Pacifics used the same 10,000 gallon tender as the USRA Mikados, and our models uses this 10,000 gallon tender. In our 2022 production run, we are building mostly Heavy and Light 4-6-2's that were quite similar to the USRA prototypes, but were not part of the USRA program. We have selected well-known locomotives with attractive paint schemes. Additionally, we will offer one unlettered Heavy Pacific and one unlettered Light Pacific. Both are painted black, with graphite firebox and smokebox, and are ready to be decorated and run on any railroad you like.
