This is the Standard DC version — DCC-ready by swapping the lighting board for the decoder of your choice (sold separately).

Will it run on Code 55 track?
Yes. The wheels are low-profile and blackened, so they roll cleanly on Code 55, Code 70, and Code 80 rail.

Does it have sound?
No, this is a non-sound DC version. For sound you'd need a sound-equipped DCC decoder (sold separately) or a different Kato release.
