Description
EMD developed the SD70ACe in the early 2000s, adding the emissions equipment needed to meet EPA standards to the proven SD70 platform. It is a front-line road engine for the big Class I railroads and still leads heavy freight across the country.
This WalthersMainline model is Norfolk Southern America250 The Freedom #250, in standard DC with a 21-pin socket and speaker already in place for a decoder upgrade. Heavy die-cast frame, all-wheel drive and brass flywheels make it a strong, smooth runner for modern freight.

Yes. It has a 21-pin decoder socket and a speaker already installed, so a plug-in 21-pin sound decoder is a simple upgrade. The LokSound version is also listed if you would rather have it factory installed.

Walthers lists an 18" minimum radius, with 22" or broader recommended.
