FAQ
Do I need any other supplies to use this set?The set includes the primer, paints, washes, pigments, effects, and thinners needed for the weathering workflow. You'll still want brushes, an airbrush (for the shaders/primer if you're spraying), and your model — but the consumables are all here.
Can I use this on European or Japanese trains too?The colors are tuned to American prototypes (Grimy Brown, Engine Grime, Ash Black, etc.), but the techniques and most of the products work just as well on any rolling stock. The Solution Book #01 covers European trains specifically if that's your focus.
Are the paints acrylic, enamel, or oil? It's a mix — the shaders, primer, and rail center colors are acrylic; the washes and effects are enamel; the OILBRUSHER is oil-based. Both compatible thinners (acrylic and odourless enamel) are included.
What scales does this work for?All scales. Weathering products are scale-agnostic — the same wash, pigment, and effects work whether you're weathering an N scale boxcar or an O scale steam locomotive.
