The EMD E7 was the best selling passenger diesel of its day. EMD built 428 E7A cab units at La Grange between 1945 and 1949, each riding on six-wheel trucks and powered by twin 12-cylinder 567A engines for 2,000 horsepower. Its bulldog nose set the look for the E8 and E9 that followed.
Southern Railway #2906 wears the classic black, gray and gold Tuxedo scheme that Southern used on its passenger fleet. Broadway Limited models it in N scale with road-specific details and the full Paragon4 sound and control system, so it runs on DC or DCC straight out of the box.
