    Kato Kato 20-215 | Unitrack #6 Electric Turnout Right - Urethane Ties, 718mm (28 1/4") Radius | N Scale

2 In Stock at Our Warehouse

Kato's #6 Unitrack turnout is the go-to switch for smooth, reliable N scale mainline trackwork, and this version dresses it up with urethane ties. They copy the synthetic composite ties modern railroads now lay in place of wood, with brown ties set on gray ballast for a more up-to-date look. Under the new ties it works exactly like the standard Kato 20-203: a gentle 718mm (28 1/4") diverging radius that long equipment handles with ease, and a built-in switch machine hidden beneath the roadbed. Specifications Brand Kato Item Number 20-215 (Kato EP718-15RPC) Scale N (1:160) Type #6 electric turnout, right hand Length 186mm (7 5/16") Diverging Route 718mm (28 1/4") radius, 15 degrees Ties Urethane (synthetic) ties on gray ballasted roadbed Switch Machine Built in, with lead wire and plug, plus a manual throw lever Power Routing Only the route the turnout is set for is powered Control Kato 24-840 Turnout Control Switch (sold separately) In the Package 1 turnout with lead wire UPC 4949727695266 Condition New Features Urethane ties model the synthetic composite ties used on modern railroads, a better match for present-day layouts than the standard brown wood-tie turnout. Broad 718mm (28 1/4") diverging radius keeps long passenger cars and modern freight running smoothly through the switch. Built-in switch machine sits under the roadbed with no bulky motor beside the track, and a manual lever lets you throw it by hand. Power routing turnout, so a train parked on the unselected route sits dead. Handy for simple sidings without extra wiring. Designed to go with Kato's new concrete-tie Unitrack, and joins all standard Unitrack with UniJoiners. Frequently Asked Questions What else do I need to throw it electrically?A Kato 24-840 Turnout Control Switch, sold separately. It plugs into the turnout lead wire. If you are not using a Kato power pack, Kato's 24-842 adapter connects the switch to other power supplies. How is this different from the Kato 20-203?Only the look. Geometry, the switch machine and electrical behavior are the same. The 20-203 has brown wood-style ties, while the 20-215 has urethane ties. How do I build a siding or a double track crossover with it?Add a 718mm (28 1/4") radius 15 degree curve to the diverging leg. That brings the track back parallel at Kato's standard 49.5mm double track spacing. Will it work on a DCC layout?Yes. The track works on DC or DCC. To throw the turnout from your DCC system, wire the switch machine to a stationary accessory decoder instead of the 24-840. Is the left-hand version available?Yes, the Kato 20-214 is the matching left-hand turnout, linked below. 1 In Stock In Store

Broadway Limited puts a matched pair of Chesapeake & Ohio class H2a three-bay hoppers on your N scale layout, road numbers 379701 and 379927. Both cars are fully assembled and decorated in the black-with-white scheme carrying the "C and O for Progress" herald, and each one ships with a removable coal load already dropped in. This is Pack B, the companion release to 7152 Pack A, so running the two sets together gives you four individually numbered cars for a believable coal drag. The H2a was the workhorse of Appalachian coal railroading. Norfolk & Western rostered them by the thousands, and neighboring roads including the C&O owned or leased near-identical cars, which is why a string of these looks right behind almost any steam or early diesel power on an eastern coal line. Specifications Manufacturer Broadway Limited Imports Item Number 7153 Scale N Scale (1:160) Car Type Class H2a 3-Bay Open Hopper Road Name Chesapeake & Ohio (C&O) Road Numbers 379701 and 379927 Paint Scheme Black with white lettering, 2-pack B Cars Included 2 Body Material ABS plastic body with ABS chassis Wheels Metal wheels and axles Couplers Operating knuckle couplers Coal Load Removable Rail Compatibility Code 55, 70 and 80 Minimum Operating Radius 9 inches Era 1949 to 1970 Condition New, factory sealed UPC 836563071535 Features Two cars per pack, each carrying its own road number so no two cars in your consist match. Completely assembled and decorated at the factory. Nothing to build, paint or letter. Plastic (ABS) body on an ABS chassis, with crisp rivet, side-post and end-ladder detail. Metal wheels and axles milled for smooth, low-friction rolling and better electrical pickup on your track. Detailed underbody and detailed hopper interior, both visible in normal viewing. Removable coal load, so the same cars can run loaded on the way out and empty on the way back. Operating knuckle couplers work straight out of the box with other knuckle-equipped N scale rolling stock. Operates on Code 55, 70 and 80 rail with a minimum radius of 9 inches, so it fits compact layouts as well as large ones. More in This Series These hoppers were built to run in blocks. Set them on the rails and go. Which road numbers are in this pack?C&O 379701 and C&O 379927. Pack A (item 7152) carries two different numbers again, so buying both packs gives you four unique cars. Will these run on my track?Yes on Code 55, Code 70 and Code 80 rail. The cars need a minimum radius of 9 inches, which most N scale track plans clear easily. Can I run them empty?Yes. The coal load lifts out, so you can alternate loaded and empty moves on the same layout session. What era do these fit?The black scheme with the "C and O for Progress" herald fits roughly 1949 through 1970, which covers late steam, the transition era and first-generation diesels. Introduced in 1992 and built through 1999, this version of the SD70 carries the spartan cab shared with earlier EMD diesels, making it an easy stand-in for a wide range of 1990s freight assignments. This one arrives with ESU sound and DCC already installed, so it runs on either a DCC or a conventional DC layout with prime mover, horns and bells working from the first lap. Underneath it is the same drive Walthers puts in its Proto locomotives: a 5-pole skew-wound motor, dual brass flywheels, all-wheel drive and pickup, and a die-cast chassis that gives it the weight to pull a real train. Looking for more HO scale power? Browse our HO Scale Locomotives, the full WalthersMainline range, and our DCC decoders and sound. Features All-new tooling with correct North American Safety Cab or spartan cab per prototype. Flush radiators per early production units. Correct HTCR, HTCR-1a or HTCR-1b trucks per prototype. Brass Nathan K5 air horn and treadplate detail on the walkways. Same drive as WalthersProto locomotives: 5-pole skew-wound motor, 14:1 gear ratio, helical-cut gears, dual machined brass flywheels and a heavy die-cast metal chassis. All-wheel drive and all-wheel electrical pickup. ESU sound and DCC installed, works on both DCC and DC powered layouts. Four air horns selectable by CV: K5LAR24, P5R24, K3LA2 and K3L. Two bells selectable by CV: Graham E-bell and steel bell. 21-pin DCC plug. LED lighting with high or low headlight per prototype, working front ditch lights, constant and directional lighting. Cab interior, 5000-gallon fuel tank with road-specific details and a bell on the conductor's side. Correct size RP-25 metal wheels and Proto MAX magnetic metal knuckle couplers. Fully assembled.
