The Digitrax SDCK is the cable kit that gets signal connections from a signal decoder out to the masts without a rat's nest under the layout. You get 30 feet of 10-wire ribbon cable and eight 10-pin sockets - enough to build two complete signal driver cables - and you cut them to whatever length your benchwork actually needs, crimping a socket on wherever a signal goes.

What exactly is in the box?
Thirty feet of 10-wire ribbon cable and eight 10-pin sockets. That is the raw material for two full signal driver cables, cut and terminated wherever your layout needs them.
Do I need any special tools?
The sockets are insulation-displacement type, so they press onto the ribbon cable. A small vice or a pair of smooth-jaw pliers will seat them; no soldering and no crimp tool needed.
What else do I need for a signal install?
A signal decoder to drive the aspects, signal masts or heads, and mounting hardware such as the SMBK mast base kit and SMHK mounting hardware kit to hold the plugs at the right height under the layout.
Can I make the cables any length?
Yes, that is the point of buying a kit rather than ready-made cables. Measure the run, cut, and press a socket on at each signal position.
