The SoundTraxx 885020 is a TSU-4400 Tsunami2 digital sound decoder with the Baldwin & Other sound set. Tsunami2 combines a 16-bit sound system, Hyperdrive2 motor control, Hyperlight lighting effects and a full NMRA-compliant DCC decoder on one board, driven by a 32-bit processor with 16 polyphonic sound channels.
This version is the big-scale decoder: a 4-amp motor rating and screw terminals instead of solder joints, rated 4A and suited to some S, O and Large Scale locomotives. Dynamic Digital Exhaust reads the load on the motor and notches the engine up and down on its own, so the locomotive sounds like it is working for its train.

Shop the full SoundTraxx range, compare every DCC decoder we stock, or see the other Baldwin & Other sound profile decoders. A speaker is not included — browse DCC speakers rated 3 watt or better, and find install parts in DCC wiring. Add a SoundTraxx 810140 CurrentKeeper to keep sound alive over dirty track and turnouts.
Will this fit my locomotive?
It measures 69 x 30.5 x 14mm and connects by universal-style with screw terminal blocks (no soldering). Check that against the space in your shell before ordering — other Tsunami2 versions use different connectors and sizes.
Is a speaker included?
No. Pair it with an 8-ohm speaker rated 3 watt or better that fits your shell.
Which prime movers do I get?
All 12 listed above, selectable via CV 123. You are not locked to one engine sound — pick whichever matches your prototype.
Does it run on DC?
Yes. Tsunami2 runs on a standard DC power pack as well as DCC, though sound and lighting options are limited on DC. Full function control needs a DCC system.
