FAQ
How many coats do I need?
3-6 coats is typical depending on the size and complexity of the master. Apply gauze between coats for added structural strength on larger molds.
Will it damage the original I am molding?
Latex is gentle on most materials including plaster castings and natural rocks. For very porous originals, apply a release agent or sealer first.
What can I cast in the finished molds?
Lightweight Hydrocal, plaster, and other water-based casting materials work great. Avoid pouring hot resins or solvent-based materials into latex molds.
How long does the latex last in storage?
Sealed and stored at room temperature, expect 12+ months of shelf life. Stir gently before each use if it has been sitting.
