  • Digitrax UP6Z LocoNet Universal Panel with 6 jacks and voltage reducer for Z Scale trains.

Digitrax Digitrax UP6Z | LocoNet Universal Panel w/3 Amp Voltage Reducer

    1 review

    1 In Stock In Store

The Digitrax UP6Z does two jobs at once. It is a LocoNet universal panel with six jacks for plugging throttles and daisy-chaining LocoNet around the layout, and it is a 3 amp voltage reducer that drops track voltage by 4 or 6 volts. Z scale motors were never built for full HO track voltage, and that reduction is what keeps them running at sane speeds and sane temperatures on Digitrax equipment. More LocoNet gear? Browse our DCC Accessories, DCC Wiring, and the full Digitrax range. Features Reduces track voltage by 4 or 6 volts at 3 amps - selectable, for safer Z scale running on a Digitrax system. Six LocoNet jacks for throttles and for daisy-chaining LocoNet onwards around the layout. Usable in any scale as a universal panel - the voltage reduction is what makes it specifically useful for Z. Fascia mounted, so throttles plug in where the operator is standing. Uses standard 6-conductor LocoNet cable with RJ12 connectors. More Information Brand Digitrax Item Number UP6Z Product Type LocoNet Universal Panel with Voltage Reducer Primary Scale Z Voltage Reduction 4 V or 6 V, selectable Current Rating 3 A LocoNet Jacks 6 Cable Type 6-conductor with RJ12 connectors Condition New FAQ Why does Z scale need reduced voltage?A standard DCC booster puts out track voltage suited to HO and larger. Z scale motors run hot and far too fast on that. Dropping 4 to 6 volts brings the top speed and the motor temperature back to something sensible. Do I choose 4 V or 6 V?It depends on your booster output and how your locomotives behave. Start with the smaller reduction, check top speed and motor temperature, and increase it if the trains still run too fast. Can I use it on an HO layout?Yes, as a plain universal panel with six LocoNet jacks. The voltage reduction is the feature you would not need there - if HO is all you run, a UP7 is the simpler choice. How many amps will it pass?Three amps, which is ample for a Z scale layout - Z locomotives draw a fraction of what larger scales pull.

  • Digitrax SE74 | Signal Decoder | Multi Scale - Squeaky's Trains

Digitrax Digitrax SE74 | Signal Decoder | Multi Scale

    1 In Stock In Store

The Digitrax SE74 is the signal and turnout decoder that ties a working signal system to your LocoNet. It drives signal masts, throws four turnouts, reads eight input lines for sensors and local push buttons, and stores eight routes of eight entries each - which means interlockings and crossovers can be set from a single command instead of one turnout at a time. Signalling your layout? Browse our DCC Accessories, DCC Wiring, and the full Digitrax range. Features Fully connectorized installation - signal driver cables and turnout leads plug in, so a signal bay can be built on the bench and dropped under the layout. Four turnout outputs, configurable for solenoid machines (Peco, Atlas, Kato) or slow-motion machines such as the Tortoise. 8 input lines for block detectors, sensors and local control buttons at the fascia. 8 system routes with 8 entries each - throw a whole crossover or interlocking from one command. Optional DCC 9-aspect control mode, including Lunar aspects, for prototypical signalling. Setup via option switches or LocoNet programming, with Series 7 style configuration from a DT602 throttle. More Information Brand Digitrax Item Number SE74 Product Type DCC Signal and Turnout Decoder Scale All scales Turnout Outputs 4 - solenoid or slow-motion Input Lines 8 Routes 8 routes x 8 entries Signal Aspects Up to 9-aspect DCC mode including Lunar Connection LocoNet, connectorized signal driver cables Condition New FAQ What else do I need to get signals running? The SE74 plus signal masts and a way to carry the connections to them. Most installs use a Signal Driver Cable Kit (SDCK) for the ribbon cable and sockets, plus mast bases and mounting hardware. You also need occupancy detection - the SE74 displays aspects, it does not detect trains on its own. Can it drive slow-motion turnout machines?Yes. The four turnout outputs are configurable for either solenoid machines such as Peco, Atlas and Kato, or stall-motor machines such as the Tortoise. What are routes and why do they matter?A route sets several turnouts at once from a single command. With eight routes of eight entries you can line an entire crossover or interlocking with one button press instead of throwing each point individually. Do I need a Digitrax command station?Yes for full configuration - the SE74 is a LocoNet device and is set up over LocoNet, with the most convenient programming from a DT602 throttle.

  • Digitrax DS52 | Dual Stationary Decoder for Snap Switches or Slow Motion Machines | Multi Scale - Squeaky's Trains

Digitrax Digitrax DS52 | Dual Stationary Decoder for Snap Switches or Slow Motion Machines | Multi Scale

    2 In Stock In Store

The Digitrax DS52 is a two-output stationary decoder that will drive either kind of turnout machine - slow-motion stall motors such as the Tortoise and Switchmaster, or solenoid machines such as Peco, Atlas Snap Switches and Kato Unitrack. The capacitive discharge circuit gives solenoids the hard kick they need to throw reliably, and everything lands on screw terminals, so a board goes in with a screwdriver and no soldering. Wiring a layout? Browse our DCC Accessories, DCC Wiring, and the full Digitrax range. Features Drives two turnout machines of either type - two slow-motion stall motors, or two solenoid machines, whichever your layout uses. Capacitive discharge for solenoids gives twin-coil and bi-polar machines a proper snap, including Kato Unitrack, AristoCraft and LGB two-wire types. Screw terminals throughout - wire it in with a screwdriver, no soldering under the layout. Addresses set individually or sequentially, so the two outputs can sit anywhere in your numbering scheme or as a consecutive pair. Works in all scales on track power up to 22V. Standard DCC accessory decoder - works with any NMRA DCC system, not just Digitrax. More Information Brand Digitrax Item Number DS52 Product Type DCC Stationary (Accessory) Decoder Scale All scales Outputs 2 turnouts Machine Types Slow-motion stall motor, or 2-wire bi-polar and 3-wire solenoid Solenoid Drive Capacitive discharge Addressing Individual or sequential Connections Screw terminals Max Track Voltage 22 V Condition New FAQ Will it drive Tortoise machines?Yes. The DS52 handles two slow-motion stall-motor machines such as the Tortoise by Circuitron or the Switchmaster, as well as solenoid types. You select the mode when you set it up. Will it throw Kato Unitrack turnouts?Yes. Kato Unitrack uses a two-wire bi-polar solenoid, which the DS52 drives through its capacitive discharge circuit - the same circuit that handles three-wire Peco and Atlas Snap Switch machines. Can I mix machine types on one decoder? The two outputs share a configuration, so plan on a DS52 per pair of like machines rather than mixing a Tortoise and a snap switch on the same board. Do I need a Digitrax system? No. It is a standard NMRA DCC accessory decoder and will take turnout commands from any DCC system.

  • TCS 1454 KA1 Keep-Alive Capacitor with Wire Leads - DCC Accessory product photo

Train Control Systems TCS 1454 | KA1 Keep-Alive Capacitor with Wire Leads | DCC Accessory

    2 In Stock In Store

The Train Control Systems KA1 Keep-Alive® is a compact stay-alive capacitor pack that feeds backup power to your DCC decoder whenever the wheels lose contact with the rails. No more stalling on dirty track, dead frogs, or insulated turnouts. The KA1 comes in at about half the size of a KA3 and delivers roughly one-third the capacitance of a KA3/KA4, making it a great choice where space is tight in N and smaller HO locomotives. It includes Blue and Black-with-White-stripe lead wires to solder to your decoder's keep-alive pads (V+ and ground), so it works with TCS and most other-brand decoders that accept an external keep-alive. Browse more decoder add-ons in our DCC Accessories collection, shop the full Train Control Systems lineup, or pair it with a new sound decoder from our DCC Decoders collection. Features Keep-Alive® stay-alive capacitor pack eliminates stalling on dirty track, dead frogs, and insulated rail joints. Compact — about half the size of a KA3; delivers roughly one-third the capacitance of a KA3/KA4. Includes Blue and Black/White lead wires to solder to your decoder's keep-alive pads — works with TCS and most other-brand decoders. Dimensions: 1.063" x 0.35" x 0.244" (27 x 8.9 x 6.2 mm). Input rating 12–16V; works with any scale and any DCC system. More Information Brand Train Control Systems (TCS) Item Number 1454 (KA1) Type Keep-Alive / Stay-Alive Capacitor Pack Connection Blue + Black/White Wire Leads (solder-on) Dimensions 1.063" x 0.35" x 0.244" (27 x 8.9 x 6.2 mm) Input Rating 12–16V Scale Any Scale Condition New FAQ What does a Keep-Alive actually do?It stores an electrical charge and feeds it to your decoder when track power drops out, so the locomotive keeps moving and its lights and sound stay on across dirty track, frogs, and gaps. How do I connect the KA1?Solder the Blue wire to your decoder's keep-alive positive (V+) pad and the Black/White wire to the ground pad. It works with TCS decoders and most other brands that offer keep-alive connections — check your decoder's manual for the correct pads. Why choose the KA1 over a larger KA3/KA4?It's much smaller and fits where bigger packs won't — ideal for N scale and cramped HO shells. It holds less charge, so for longer run-through use a KA3 or KA4 if you have the room.

  • Digitrax SNABC | Turnout Signaling Kit | N Scale - Squeaky's Trains

Digitrax Digitrax SNABC | Turnout Signaling Kit | N Scale

    1 In Stock In Store

The Digitrax SNABC is a complete turnout signalling kit in N scale. A turnout takes three signals to do properly - a dual-head mast facing the points that shows both routes, plus single-head masts covering each leg beyond - and the kit includes all three along with the mounting board, plugs and hardware. Current-limiting resistors are already fitted, which matters more in N scale where the LEDs are small and unforgiving. Signalling your layout? Browse our DCC Accessories, DCC Wiring, and the full Digitrax range. What's Included Item Qty Dual Head A Signal 1 Single Head B Signal 1 Single Head C Signal 1 SMP1 signal mast plug 3 Spacers 6 Screws 6 Features Everything for one N scale turnout signal plant - three signals, mast plugs, spacers and screws. Dual-head A signal for the straight and diverging routes at the points, plus B and C single heads for each leg. Plug and play 10-pin connectors so signals lift out during ballasting and scenery work - worth a lot on an N scale layout where everything is close together. Current-setting resistors built into the board - nothing to calculate, nothing to solder. Pads are provided to attach any signal head to the mast base if you want to mix in other manufacturers. Intended for use with the Digitrax SE8C signal decoder. More Information Brand Digitrax Item Number SNABC Product Type Signal Kit Scale N Configuration Turnout - A, B and C masts Signal Heads 1 dual head, 2 single head Connector 10-pin plug and play Resistors Built into the mounting board Use With Digitrax SE8C signal decoder Condition New FAQ What is the difference between this and a mainline kit?A turnout needs three signals: a dual-head mast protecting the points and showing both routes, plus single-head masts for each leg beyond. A mainline kit only covers plain double track. Is this the N scale version of the SHABC?Yes. Same configuration and the same contents, with signal heads scaled for N. Do I need anything else to make the signals work?Yes - a signal decoder to drive the aspects (the SE8C is the intended partner), cabling to reach the masts such as the SDCK kit, and some form of block occupancy detection. Do I need to add resistors? No. Current-setting resistors are already on the mounting board, so there is no resistor maths and no risk of over-driving an LED.
