Does the LT1 work with non-Digitrax DCC systems?The cable-test function works with any standard RJ12 6-pin telco-style cable, but the LocoNet test mode is specific to Digitrax LocoNet (NCE, MRC, and ESU systems use different bus wiring). For decoder testing, the LT1 works with any NMRA-compliant mobile decoder paired with a Digitrax throttle and command station.
Do I need a separate power supply?No. The LT1 draws everything it needs from your Digitrax command station or booster through the LocoNet jack you plug it into.
Can I test stationary decoders or accessory decoders with it?The LT1 is designed for mobile (locomotive) decoders. Stationary and accessory decoders use different wiring and are best tested with a dedicated programmer or in their intended layout circuit.
What does it mean if only some LEDs light up?Each LED corresponds to a specific conductor in the LocoNet cable. A dark LED tells you which wire is broken, miscrimped, or shorted — usually pointing you straight at a bad RJ12 plug on one end of the cable.
