The Digitrax DS44 is a basic quad stationary decoder that puts four slow-motion turnout machines, such as the Circuitron Tortoise, under DCC control. Throw your turnouts from any throttle on the layout. It takes its power and commands straight from the track, so hookup is two wires to the rails plus the turnout machine leads.
Important: the DS44 is for slow-motion (stall-motor) turnout machines only. It will not work with solenoid or twin-coil switch machines such as Atlas, Peco or Kato snap machines.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will the DS44 run Atlas, Peco or Kato snap switch machines? No. It only drives slow-motion stall-motor machines like the Tortoise. Solenoid (twin-coil) machines need a different stationary decoder.
How do I set the addresses? With track power off, connect the red and black wires to the track. Temporarily connect the white setup wire to the same rail as the black wire to set a sequential group of 4, or to the same rail as the red wire to set each output individually. Turn power on, operate the switch address (or the 4 addresses, in order A to D) from your throttle, then disconnect the white wire and fold it away.
Does it need its own power supply? No. The DS44 is powered from the track through its red and black wires.
What scale is it for?Any scale. It controls the turnout machines, not the track, so it works for N, HO, O and larger.
