  • Peco SL-86 Code 100 Curved Double Radius Turnout, Right Hand, Insulfrog, HO scale

Peco Peco SL-86 | Code 100 Curved Double Radius Turnout - Streamline, Right Hand, Insulfrog | HO Scale

    1 In Stock In Store

The Peco SL-86 is a Code 100 Streamline curved double radius turnout, right hand, with an Insulfrog (insulated, all-plastic frog) for HO and OO layouts. It is putting a junction or siding right on a curve, so you keep the flowing look of the mainline instead of forcing a straight section in. Code 100 rail accepts flanges up to 1.6mm deep, so older deep-flange equipment and current RP-25 wheels run side by side without trouble. Both routes curve the same way: the inner road follows a 30" (762mm) radius and the outer road a 60" (1524mm) radius, with a 12 degree divergence between them. Because every Peco Code 100 turnout shares that geometry, small, medium and large radius points combine cleanly into ladders, crossovers and junctions. Specifications Manufacturer Peco Part Number SL-86 (Walthers 552-SL86) Scale HO / OO (16.5mm gauge) Rail Code 100 nickel silver Track System Peco Streamline Type Curved Double Radius Turnout Hand Right Hand Frog Insulfrog (insulated plastic frog) Radius 30" (762mm) inner and 60" (1524mm) outer radius Angle 12 degrees Length 258mm (10.2") Quantity 1 turnout UPC 5050881036501 Features Code 100 nickel silver rail, compatible with Atlas, Walthers and other Code 100 HO track using standard rail joiners Insulfrog design: the plastic frog is insulated, so it works out of the box on DC or DCC with no frog wiring Built-in over-center spring holds the points firmly in either position, so you can throw it by hand or add a switch machine later Wood-grain sleepers (ties) molded with a realistic spacing Shares Peco's common 12 degree geometry, so it lines up with every other Code 100 Streamline turnout and crossing Frequently Asked Questions Will it work with my Atlas or Walthers Code 100 track?Yes. Code 100 is a rail height standard, so Peco Code 100 connects to any other Code 100 HO track with ordinary rail joiners. What is the difference between Insulfrog and Electrofrog? An Insulfrog has an insulated plastic frog, so it works straight out of the box on DC or DCC with no extra wiring. The Electrofrog version has a live metal frog for the best slow-speed running, but it needs insulated joiners and frog wiring. Does it come with a switch machine? No. The turnout has a built-in spring and can be thrown by hand. For remote control, it accepts a Peco point motor or an under-table machine such as the Circuitron Tortoise. Are rail joiners included? No. Pick up a pack of Peco SL-10 Code 100 rail joiners to connect it to the rest of your layout. Is there a matching turnout for the other direction?Yes. The Peco SL-91 is a Code 100 Streamline small radius turnout, right hand, with an Insulfrog (insulated, all-plastic frog) for HO and OO layouts. It is yards, industrial spurs and tight shelf layouts where space is short. Code 100 rail accepts flanges up to 1.6mm deep, so older deep-flange equipment and current RP-25 wheels run side by side without trouble. The diverging road follows a 24" (610mm) radius with a 12 degree crossing angle, the same angle used across the whole Peco Code 100 Streamline turnout family. Because every Peco Code 100 turnout shares that geometry, small, medium and large radius points combine cleanly into ladders, crossovers and junctions. The Peco SL-E8351 is a Code 83 Streamline #5 turnout, right hand, with an Electrofrog (live metal frog) for the smoothest slow-speed running, since there is no dead spot through the frog. It is a compact turnout for yards, industrial spurs and tight spots where a #6 will not fit. Peco's Code 83 line is modeled on North American railroad track: scaled from A.R.E.A. drawings, NMRA compliant, with authentic tie sizes and spacing, North American frog numbering and fine spike detail. Code 83 is a rail height standard, so Peco Code 83 connects to any other Code 83 HO track with ordinary rail joiners. Does it need any special wiring?Yes, a little. An Electrofrog is power routing, so use insulated rail joiners on the two frog rails and feed power to the track on the points (toe) end. A switch machine with contacts, such as the Circuitron Tortoise, can switch frog polarity. Does it come with a switch machine? No. It can be thrown by hand, by a ground throw, or by a switch machine such as the Circuitron Tortoise or Smail. Peco Peco SL-U7082 | Code 70 #8 Turnout - Streamline, Left Hand, Unifrog | HO Scale

    1 In Stock In Store

The Peco SL-U7082 is a Code 70 Streamline #8 turnout, left hand, with a Unifrog, Peco's newest frog design: the metal frog is isolated from the rails, so it works out of the box on DC or DCC, and it has a dropper wire if you want to power the frog later. It is a long, gentle #8 for mainline crossovers and junctions where long cars and six-axle locomotives run. Peco's Code 70 "70 Line" is authentic American track with a lower, finer rail profile that suits branch lines, yards and secondary mainlines. The diverging road follows a 67" (1702mm) radius with a 7.15 degree frog angle. Older deep-flange wheels can bump the tie plates and spike detail, so check your fleet first. To join it to Code 83 or Code 100 track, use transition rail joiners. Do I have to power the frog? No. The Unifrog runs straight out of the box on DC or DCC. Connecting the dropper wire to a polarity switch, such as the contacts on a Circuitron Tortoise, powers the frog for the smoothest slow running. Does it come with a switch machine? No. It can be thrown by hand, by a ground throw, or by a switch machine such as the Circuitron Tortoise or Smail.
