Sound and non-sound DCC decoders from SoundTraxx, ESU, Digitrax and Train Control Systems. To pick the right one, match three things to your locomotive: the connection (hardwire, 8-pin, 21-pin or Next18 plug), the motor current it needs, and for sound decoders the prime mover or steam profile. Each product page lists its connection, current rating and sound set. Not sure what fits? Ask us before you order.

ESU LLC ESU 58731 | LokSound 5 micro DCC Direct Kato Japan | N Scale
By default, this decoder does not come with a pre-programmed Sound Profile. Nevertheless, we provide complimentary Sound File programming for all ESU decoders. Please be aware that opting for Sound File Programming in your order might result in a shipment delay of 1 to 2 business days. Visit this link to preview ESU Sounds The LokSound 5 micro DCC Direct Kato Japan has been specially developed for installation in Kato-branded track N vehicles: in many European and Japanese locomotives of this manufacturer, the ser decoder can be installed directly below the engine instead of the analog board installed as standard. Finally, these models can also be easily retrofitted with a LokSound decoder. The LokSound 5 micro DCC Direct Kato Japan with its dimensions of 27.6mm x 14.1mm x 3mm is a pure DCC decoder and comes without a loudspeaker. Modes The LokSound 5 micro DCC Direct Kato Japan is a "pure-bred" DCC decoder. 14 to 128 driving steps are as self-evident as 2- and 4-digit addresses. Up to 32 functions can be triggered. Thanks to RailComPlus®, the decoders log in fully to a suitable digital center. It masters all DCC programming modes and thanks to RailCom® the CV values can be read out on the main track with suitable control panels. Auxiliary registers exist for control panels that can only program the CVs from 1-255. The LokSound 5 micro DCC Direct Kato Japan Decoder detects the Märklin® brake distances as well as ZIMO® HLU / ZACK commands or the Lenz® ABC system. Braking with DCC brake blocks or dc voltage is also possible. In addition, it also stops with a Selectrix® brake diode. An AUTOMATIC ABC commuter train allows automatic commuting between two stations. The LokSound 5 micro DCC Direct Kato Japan can be used on analog DC webs. The decoder switches "on-the-fly" fully automatically between operating modes. Most of the time, nothing needs to be adjusted. Sound The LokSound 5 micro DCC Direct Kato Japan Decoder can play up to 12 channels simultaneously. Each channel can be resolved with up to 16 bits / 31250 kHz and offers hi-fi quality on its system. There is virtually no difference to the original audible anymore. A Class-D audio output with up to 3W output power controls the speakers, which can have between 4 ohms and 32 ohms impedance. A 128 Mbit sound memory provides enough capacity. All individual noises can be adjusted individually in the volume. The super-flexible sound engine without a rigid schedule allows the exemplary simulation of all conceivable rail tracks. Functions Although the LokSound 5 micro DCC Direct Kato Japan is normally installed in the motor car of a drive car set, three reinforced function outputs for lighting are available at their own discretion. All important lighting functions are available. The brightness of each output can be set separately. Motor The motor control of the LokSound 5 micro DCC Direct Kato Japan has a variable PWM clock frequency from 10kHz to 50kHz, which ensures a super-quiet drive, especially for bell anchor motors – the typical "hum" is a thing of the past. The load control can be adapted to difficult cases with up to 10 CVs. The unique "Autotune" function allows the decoder to be automatically measured against the motor. The LokSound 5 micro DCC Direct Kato Japan Decoder delivers up to 0.9A motor power. Protection Of course, the outputs are protected against overload. We want you to enjoy your decoder for as long as possible. Digitrax Digitrax DH127PS | Series 7 Mobile Decoder | HO Scale
The Digitrax DH127PS is the short-harness version of the Series 7 HO decoder: the same 9-pin decoder wired to an 8-pin NMRA medium plug on roughly 1.2 inches of wire. That short lead is the whole point. In a tight shell where the socket sits exactly where the decoder needs to live, the longer harness just becomes wire you have to hide. Building a DCC fleet? Browse our DCC Decoders, DCC Speakers, and DCC Accessories. Features 8-pin NMRA medium plug on a short 1.2 in. harness - built for tight installs where there is nowhere to stuff excess wire. 1.0 amp continuous, 2.0 amps peak - ample for single-motor HO diesels and steam. 2 FX7 function outputs at 200mA for directional headlights plus effects such as Mars light, ditch lights, rotary beacon and flicker. Series 7 platform with back-EMF speed stabilisation, so slow switching moves stay smooth and controlled. Plug-and-play on any DCC-ready HO locomotive with an 8-pin socket - no soldering. More Information Brand Digitrax Item Number DH127PS Product Type DCC Mobile Decoder Scale HO Motor Current 1.0 A continuous / 2.0 A peak Function Outputs 2 x FX7, 200 mA Connection 9-pin socket with PS-harness, 8-pin medium plug Harness Length Approx. 1.2 in. Series Digitrax Series 7 Sound No - motor and function decoder only Condition New FAQ DH127PS or DH127P - which one do I want?Same decoder, different harness length. The PS has about 1.2 in. of wire for cramped installs; the P has about 3.2 in., which routes more easily in a roomy diesel hood. If you are unsure, the longer one is more forgiving - you can always coil the slack. Will it fit my locomotive? If the loco is DCC-ready with an 8-pin NMRA socket, yes. Remove the dummy plug, keep it somewhere safe in case you ever sell the loco as DC, and seat the decoder plug with pin 1 to the marked corner. Does it have sound? No. This is a motor and function decoder. For sound in HO, look at a Digitrax SDXH series decoder or a SoundTraxx unit, plus a speaker. Do I need a Digitrax command station? No. It is a standard NMRA DCC decoder and will run and program on any DCC system.

The SoundTraxx 885622 is a BLU-2200 Blunami digital sound decoder with the EMD-2 sound set. Blunami is a Tsunami2 with a Bluetooth radio added, so it runs three ways: as a normal DCC decoder on any NMRA-compliant system, on plain DC, or in wireless mode straight from your phone or tablet. Wireless mode needs no command station and no programming track — an old DC power pack and the free Blunami app are enough, and CVs can be read and changed over Bluetooth while the locomotive is running. The app is free for iOS and Android. This version is the universal-style Blunami that fits most HO diesels, suited to HO and small S scale. Features 8 EMD-2 prime movers: EMD 567 12-cylinder (no transition), EMD 567C 16-cylinder non-turbo, EMD 645E 12-cylinder non-turbo, EMD 645E 12-cylinder turbo, EMD 645F 16-cylinder turbo, EMD 645E 20-cylinder turbo, EMD 710G 12-cylinder, EMD 710G 16-cylinder Over 40 air horns and 13 bells, plus air compressors, couplers and dynamos Bluetooth control from the free Blunami app (iOS and Android) — over 300 settings without editing a single CV by hand Dynamic Digital Exhaust (DDE) automatically matches exhaust volume and RPM to the load on the motor, and the app calibrates it for you Three braking types: independent, train and dynamic braking Hyperdrive2 motor control for smooth, creep-speed switching Over 20 Hyperlight lighting effects across 6 function outputs 16 polyphonic sound channels on a 32-bit processor, with a 7-band equalizer and adjustable reverb CurrentKeeper ready — works with the SoundTraxx 810140 CurrentKeeper More Information Item Number: SoundTraxx 885622 Model: BLU-2200 Blunami Sound Set: EMD-2 Diesel Scale: HO and small S scale Decoder Size: 35 x 18 x 6mm Connection: NMRA 9-pin JST harness to hardwire Max. A speaker is not included — browse DCC speakers rated 2 watt or better, and find install parts in DCC wiring. Add a SoundTraxx 810140 CurrentKeeper to keep sound alive over dirty track and turnouts. FAQ Do I need a DCC system to use this? No. That is the point of Blunami. It runs on a plain DC power pack with no command station at all — you control it from the free Blunami app over Bluetooth. It is also a fully NMRA-compliant DCC decoder if you already run DCC. Does the app work on Android?Yes. The free Blunami app is published for both iOS and Android. (Some older listings and dealer pages still say iOS only — that is out of date.) Is a speaker included? No. Pair it with an 8-ohm speaker rated 2 watt or better that fits your shell. Which prime movers do I get?All 8 listed above, selectable in the app or via CV 123. You are not locked to one engine sound — pick whichever matches your prototype. EMD-2 or plain EMD — which do I want? This is the EMD-2 set: a second collection of less-common EMD prime movers, called out by cylinder count. The plain EMD set covers the more common 567/645/710 variants. Match the list above to your prototype. Will it fit my locomotive? This one measures 35 x 18 x 6mm and connects by nmra 9-pin jst harness to hardwire. Check the space in your shell against that footprint before ordering — other Blunami versions use different connectors and sizes.

More Information Brand Digitrax Item Number DH127D Product Type DCC Mobile Decoder Scale HO Motor Current 1.0 A continuous / 2.0 A peak Function Outputs 2 x FX7, 200 mA Connection 9-pin harness socket (no harness fitted) Series Digitrax Series 7 Sound No - motor and function decoder only Condition New FAQ What is the difference between the DH127D, DH127P and DH127PS?Only the harness. The DH127D has a bare 9-pin socket and no harness. The DH127P adds a medium 8-pin plug on about 3.2 in. of wire, and the DH127PS has the same plug on about 1.2 in. of wire for tight installs. The decoder itself is identical. Will it fit my locomotive? It suits hard-wired installs and any HO locomotive where you supply the harness. If your loco has an 8-pin NMRA DCC-ready socket, the DH127P or DH127PS is the easier choice because the plug is already fitted. Does it have sound? No. The DH127D is a motor and function decoder. For sound in HO, look at a Digitrax SDXH series decoder or a SoundTraxx unit, plus a speaker. Do I need a Digitrax command station to use it?No. It is a standard NMRA DCC decoder and will run and program on any DCC system.
